How I Finally Got An Agent, Quit My Day Job, and Made $85,000 Acting On TV… And How You Can Too.

Dear Fellow Talented Actor,

You don’t realize this now, but in the next few minutes you’re going to re-think everything our teachers taught us about “The Acting Thing”

If you’re anything like me, you got out of school ready to be a successful actor, and use your talents performing for eager audiences on TV, Film, or in the Theater.   But I found out quickly that my teachers forgot one very important thing:

My name is Bones Rodriguez, and I’m an actor born and raised here in New York City, and I have some good news, and some bad news:

If you’re like most people you want to hear the bad news first, so here it is:

Don’t get me wrong, acting is great- it’s fun, it’s freeing, and you get to express yourself, tell stories, delight an audience, give of yourself, and receive back through the audience and your fellow actors.

But BEING an actor sucks.

You know what I mean- everyone tells you to quit and “get a real job” all the time, people tell you how hard it is because of your “chances of making it”, and even when you do get paid for acting, you can often feel like talking furniture.

You often do some great work, but it doesn’t pay, or you do some crappy work, because it does pay. You barely have enough money to squeeze by between gigs, and while your “regular job” friends are going on vacations, you are always too poor.

And you’re always on the verge of giving it up.

But, it’s not your fault- Our teachers told us to work on our craft, get a “survival job”, send out your headshots and WAIT to “be discovered”.

That’s what they taught us (even though it obviously didn’t work for them), so that’s what you’re doing, right? That’s what most people do.

And that’s why most fail.

Everyone knows that the acting business is tough, and most people quit before they ever make any real money. They give up and get some desk job and say things like “I had to grow up sometime”, while less talented people who “know someone” get all the jobs.

But the GOOD NEWS is that some people have figured out a way to pursue your career without having to starve, wait tables, or live with their parents.

In fact, I haven’t had a day job in over 10 years because I learned how to set up “Online Vending Machines” that send me checks in the mail over and over again.

Since I make money without a day job, I’ve been able to go on auditions, do shows, and shoot dozens of commercials. I’ve done very little TV and film, but in my career so far…

I have managed to make almost $400,000 strictly from acting work.

I know- I can hardly believe it either.

It took me a while to learn to set up, but once I made my first $20 without trading time for it, my life was forever changed.

I have never had to ask anyone for time off, to switch shifts, or sneak out for lunch. I do whatever I want to do every day.

Sometimes that means working on my acting career, sometimes it’s playing with my son, sometimes it’s doing nothing at all.

I started going to parties, and people would ask me a bunch of questions about how I was doing it, so now I’m teaching other actors how to do it too, so we can all be free and pursue the life we want.

Some people just started learning from me, and told me to help more people on a webinar.

But what about YOU?

What will you do when you aren’t trading your time for money?

Now most people when they hear this kind of thing will want to find out more, but there are some who won’t- you know the type, they’d rather go out for a drink, smoke something, and bitch about how “Hollywood” isn’t really “authentic” anymore.

They’re just losers who want to tear me down, or stop YOU from learning anything, because it justifies their lazy, whiny, go-nowhere lives. They snipe at me for my credits, for my posts, and for my drive. And if you decide you want to break free too, they’ll snipe at you too.

If you’re that type, there’s no need to keep reading, we need to leave those people behind.

But if you’re the first type, the kind who wants to be free to create, and if you have enough courage to do some work, then you’re going to love what you learn from me.

But there’s a catch– From this moment forward, you have to realize that YOU are responsible for your own success, and that you have to TAKE ACTION.

In school, you could just “learn” and then not have to DO anything.

Real life is different.

You don’t get rewarded for doing nothing.

The only difference between what you WANT and what you HAVE is APPLIED KNOWLEDGE.

So here’s your chance- stop reading right now if you want to take the “blue pill” and go back to the “unfairness” of acting, and wait tables, wait to be discovered, and wait for a miracle…

Or, you can

Go Now To STEP 2 & Take the RED PILL, and discover an entirely new world where your time is YOURS to choose to do what you WANT to do with it, and you can live the way you WANT to live.

If you’ve read this far, Then you should sign up and get my free webinar video:

P.S.- This is up for a little while, but if you’ve reached this page at a different time, then I recommend buying it, whatever it costs. But of course, it’s up to you.

Because you’re not a selfish douche, and you WANT to help other actors too.

This Is The Person Responsible For The AME Shooting

There was a shooting last night at a black church, white male about 21 years old.

A kid, really.

Let me explain- This kid is definitely to BLAME for the shooting, and if and when they catch him, there will no doubt he will be put on trial and found guilty of murder and a hate crime.

YOU are Responsible

The NINE dead people are gone- they were innocent victims, and that too is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

Because now that this has happened AGAIN, the question is- HOW DO WE STOP IT?

That part is your responsibility.

As in- you get to Choose Your RESPONSE now.

Maybe you really don’t care- you have every right to choose that Response.

Maybe you just think “oh well- if we had armed the people in church, along with the pastor, then maybe he only would have killed 4 or 5 before he was gunned down too”

Maybe you say “That’s enough! We need to look around for a SOLUTION, and find people who have found it.”

Whether or not it fits with your beliefs, or your convictions, or whatever- you want a SOLUTION.

You see, the people who want to END GUN DEATHS have a solution, and it’s very simple:

Make GUNS illegal.

Do you agree? Great- then share this right now. It’s your RESPONSIBILITY to do that- it’s basically the LEAST you can do, and if you are on board with this solution, then SHARE IT.

If you don’t agree with this solution, then you can choose one of the others….
the ones that have already been proven to NOT work.

I would argue that you are then not actually looking for a solution, just looking to make yourself feel better.

Maybe THAT is the response you choose- you have that right too.

Just remember- that after this shooting- and every other- THEY ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

A Unicorn, A Leprechaun, and a Responsible Gun Owner Walk Into A Bar

A Unicorn, A Leprechaun, and a Responsible Gun Owner Walk Into A Bar…

Th bartender says “Hey, you guys just missed The Easter Bunny!”

This not-very-good joke I thought of suggests that there is no such thing as a responsible gun owner. That’s not an insult to gun owners, it’s just that it’s not really possible. The idea that no accidents happen to “responsible” gun owners just isn’t true, so the idea of a “responsible Gun Owner” is just as much of a fantasy as the other characters.

I’ve been on an “anti-Gun” thing lately, and I don’t really know why.

I think I just hit a breaking point where I realized that it had nothing to do with what was “right” or “Wrong” or “Good” or “Bad”, and more just about whether having guns in our society WORKED to help create the society we want.

They just don’t WORK.

I think it was triggered by Mike Dillard, who I thought of as a role model for business. He has a new podcast, and in one of the episodes, he was very pro-gun, and sounding frankly like a nut job. I normally expect to hear reasonable, critical thought from him, and this sounded totally out of the park.

I assumed it was because he chose to get into the “prepper” niche to sell them stuff, and he was just parroting what they say in those marketing pieces. I caused quite a ruckus in the comments section, and he called me an asshole for presuming he was being a “prepper profiteer”.

1- I LOVE that I created that term “Prepper Profiteer”, and

2- Oh well.

All of the points he made in the podcast were just the opposite of reality. hings like “This is the only time in history when people don’t regularly wear a weapon”… and so he felt that was proof that we should. The obvious answer is that it’s a GOOD thing that we don’t do that- it means PROGRESS… I mean… that’s what we WANT, right? Anyway, whatever.

Guns Guns4

Then there have been a few more “accidents”, as well as killings, and I think it just broke my level of tolerance.

So now, if you’ll notice the last few posts, I have been equating being a “Responsible Gun Owner” with bing a “Responsible Drunk Driver”, and how ridiculous that is (even though nobody understood me), and I have been furious on facebook answering people when I suggested that there is NO SUCH THING as a “responsible gun owner”.

Someone needs to have the marketing savvy that the pro-gun people do, and I’m going to take on that challenge for a bit.

Anyway, I paid someone $21 to make this cartoon for me:

Gun control
A Loaded Question

The big problem is that the Pro-Gun people are backed by the gun industry- of course.

There’s MONEY in marketing fear, and then selling the gun-toting solution

Is there money in PEACE? here is, but it doesn’t make any ONE person rich.

I guess I could explain how to make money by promoting this message, but it’s one that isn’t as obvious, and it’s a little round-about. You can click here is you want to understand a little.

Anyway, so here’s my anti-gun post!

People with Guns Kill People

People With Guns Kill People

“People with guns kill people.”
Depending on your point of view, that’s either a pro-gun or anti-gun statement.
And it may color your view on how we should deal with the problem
of gun violence and killing in general in our country.
The entire debate seems to be about which way we can feel the most safe.
Some people say that if guns aren’t allowed at all,
then we can feel safer because no one will have a gun.
Of course, there are illegal guns everywhere, and so the
“bad guys” end up with them whether they are legal or not.
Other people say that when everyone has a gun, we can feel safer
because the “good guys” will be able to stop the “bad guys”
because he (not she so much) won’t be as invincible.
And finally, some people say that only Law enforcement should have guns,
which is a kind of half-measure because it obviously makes guns more available,
but only for people who are sworn to be “good guys”.
This makes them feel safer.
Whichever way makes you feel safest is the way you might look at a solution.
But let me question that assumption.
That assumption that your feelings about safety are the goal.
Maybe your feelings about which is safest shouldn’t be what we create our laws around.
Maybe instead of looking at things in a “good” and “bad” or
“right” and “wrong” way, we can look at them in a
“Which way Works best, depending on what we’re trying to accomplish” way.
You see, if what you’re trying to accomplish is a “feeling of safety”,
then any or all of these sound like good solutions.
But if instead of relying on your “feelings of safety”,
maybe we should be trying to accomplish something else.
The anti-gun people feel safer because they think that less guns
means it’s less likely that they’ll be shot by one, and yet,
one madman with some armor and a few guns can kill an entire school
full of children without anyone to stop him.
The pro-gun people feel safer with a gun on their hip because they know
that if someone enters a theatre to do harm, that they can stand their ground,
and shoot first. But of course with guns on everyone’s hips, someone’s fears
can turn a child with skittles and a hoodie into a dangerous thug who must be shot.
So, if we’re trying to accomplish a “feeling of safety”, we can see that both sides
of the argument are totally “right”. They both accomplish their objectives
(feeling safer) with their solution.
So, what about if our goal- that thing we’re trying to accomplish- isn’t a “feeling” at all?
What if instead what we chose to accomplish with our laws was…
LESS GUN-RELATED DEATHS.Less by “bad guys”, less by “good guys”, less by “accident”.

How could we accomplish LESS GUN-RELATED DEATHS?

Can we look at an analogy to find our solution?

What if we wanted to accomplish LESS ABORTIONS.

That’s right- I’m going there.

If what we wanted to accomplish were LESS ABORTIONS,

what would be the best way to accomplish that?Would it be to outlaw it?

Would it be to kill any woman who tried?
Would it be to hand out contraception everywhere and anywhere?
Would it be “morning after” pills for every woman every morning?Actually, no.

The best way to achieve LESS ABORTIONS would be to have ZERO PREGNANCIES.

You can’t have an abortion without a pregnancy!
So- if what we’re trying to accomplish is LESS GUN-RELATED DEATHS,
it seems that the only logical, unemotional, conclusion would be.
Can we ensure guns aren’t made? Nope.
Can we ensure that the “bad guys” wouldn’t get one? Nope.
Can we ensure that a madman wouldn’t get illegal guns and kill a school full of kids?
Nope- just like we didn’t before.But- would disallowing them altogether make those things much harder?

Would the economy around guns take a nose-dive?
Yes.Would we accomplish LESS GUN-RELATED DEATHS?

Is there proof? Yes- look at the countries that have outlawed them.

Don’t wait for me to tell you- look it up yourself.
I started this by saying that “People with guns kill people.”
So, who’s to blame? The guns? The People?
And what should we do about it?
Ask another question:
What are you trying to accomplish with your answer?

It’s Ok- I’m a Responsible Drunk Driver

I recently had an assanine conversation with someone who was defending their Drunk Driving.

It went like this:

“I go out, I have a few drinks, and I want to go home.

I get in my car, and drive more carefully than I normally would, because I understand that I have a weapon in my hands.

A weapon that can accidentally kill myself and other people.”

So I asked: “So knowing that you might kill someone, and that the statistics say that driving drunk is as dangerous as owning a loaded gun, do you still drive drunk?”

“So yeah, I drive drunk- but I do it responsibly.”

I of course asked what that means.

“If I kill someone accidentally, then I would go to jail because it would be MY responsibility.”

This person completely disregarded the fact that an innocent person would be DEAD…

“I guess I’m a criminal (since criminals don’t obey laws) but I don’t think drunk driving should be illegal, so I’m more of a patriot.

I have the God-Given RIGHT to drink and drive if I want, and no one will take it away from me.”

I was pretty sure that God has nothing to do with his decision to drink and drive, but he continued:

“I’m willing to take the consequences, even if other people aren’t as responsible as I am when they do it.

I hate the irresponsible drunk drivers- they make the rest of us look bad- idiots.”

So I told him that he sounded like someone who thinks it’s possible to be a “Responsible Drunk Driver”, just like people think it’s possible to be a “responsible Gun owner”, despite that the “irresponsible” ones aren’t found out until it’s too late.

He agreed that they were the same thing, and then gave me an example of an “Irresponsible” drunk driver:

“Last month, a girl I know who wasn’t a responsible drunk driver killed this soccer mom and one of her children, but the other kid in the car was paralyzed from the neck down. You should have seen the father crying through his anger.

He didn’t know what he was going to do. I actually think he was on suicide watch or something while his paralyzed kid was being fed at the hospital.”

I asked “But had she NOT killed those people-  accidentally- then she would have been a ‘responsible’ drunk driver?”

Drunk Driving and guns
It’s Ok, I’m a responsible drunk driver

“Of course”, he said. “The woman is going to jail now, and she should. Stupid, irresponsible woman.”

“But…. it was an ACCIDENT, right” I said.

“She said it was an ‘accident’, but if she had been more responsible when she was driving drunk, then the ‘accident’ wouldn’t have happened. She should have known that the mixture of alcohol and a car is like having a loaded weapon, and you should only use it when you absolutely know what you’re doing.”

“Like that woman who was a responsible gun owner, who had her gun to protect herself from rapists and muggers, but was killed by her own toddler who found her gun and shot her accidentally?”

“Right- it turns out that she wasn’t a responsible gun owner”

“But she was until her baby shot and killed her?”

“So every drunk driver is a responsible one until they kill someone?”

“Yes! Just like having a gun- Being a responsible drunk driver is the EXACT SAME THING as being a responsible Gun owner. You are doing a dangerous thing, and there are accidents, but you have to know that it’s your responsibility- even accidents when someone innocent is killed.”

I suggested that there was no such thing as being a responsible drunk driver, but he said this:

“There are too many people who drink and drive without proper safety precautions the way she did.

For example, my kid once got behind the wheel of my car (just being like Daddy), but I showed him how to drive responsibly, and how to drink from a paper bag when he’s driving, just so that people don’t bother him.”

I said “You mean like owning a gun responsibly?”

“Yes!! There are unjust Open Container laws to avoid, but if you’re a concealed drinker, they can’t really catch you. Just like the open carry laws, or the concealed carry laws”

“But…” I said “The statistics say that drinking and driving increases the chances of death to yourself and other INNOCENT people. That’s why we have laws against it- to protect the INNOCENT people.”

He sad he wanted to get rid of those laws, because the cars and alcohol aren’t to blame- that it’s the irresponsible drunk driver who is to blame. He continued:

“If cars and alcohol killed people, then why are cars such big business, and alcohol big business? They tried to outlaw alcohol, and look how that worked out! What are they going to do next, outlaw CARS?”

I told him that no- cars won’t be illegal, and neither will Alcohol, but that the COMBINATION of the two creates a weapon that can accidentally kill an innocent person, just like having a loaded weapon that can accidentally kill an innocent person no matter how “responsible” the owner is.

Then he kinda opened up the conversation to other people at the bar:

“This is a call out for all of the responsible drinker-drivers to band together to get rid of these laws that are trying to stop us from getting places we want to go in the state of mind we wish to be.

The criminals won’t obey the laws anyway, so it’s up to us responsible drinker-drivers to get rid of those laws, and protect our children from the “Big Brother” of government trying to “protect” us from accidents and irresponsible drunk drivers!”

The people at the bar turned around, gave me a look like “Why are you talking to this idiot?” and continued their conversations.

I left, but as I did, I could hear him say:

“You can take my drink when you can take the steering wheel out of my cold, dead hands!!

Anti-Gun Meme
Responsible Drunk Driver

By the way reader- If you haven;t figured it out yet, this is to show that it is IMPOSSIBLE to be a responsible drunk driver….. and it is equally IMPOSSIBLE to be a “responsible gun owner”. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.
